Jaguar 2.0D

Barry Says...

Many thanks for the other day.

Just a quick mail re the above – the car seems to have settled down now (the trip was all over the place for the first 20-30 miles) and I took the attached photo this morning. (about 500 miles on since I left you)

It now seems to run at anything from 48 to 49mpg (consistently) when driving “normally” – previously the trip meter was stuck on 43.6mpg after my first 1200miles in it – so assuming these things are fairly accurate, this represents an increase of circa 5mpg or 11%+.

It at least now gives me what Jaguar claim in the handbook for this car – how some owners claim they get 50mpg+ as standard I will never know!

The tank range also shows a similar increase from low 500’s to high 500’s.

The other major difference is the torque increase (mainly in top gear usage) – I can now safely overtake on the motorway without having to think about it anymore – the acceleration from 70mph is quite amazing.

I will continue to monitor things and update you in a month’s time.

Kind Regards,

Barry Caesar
